John and Dan had a good afternoon dry fly fishing
to the scum bum's working in the Texas hole. When dry fly
fishing let the fish go down with the fly then just lift, don't set
hard or you will part ways losing the fish and probably your fly.

This was a day on the San Juan River with John and Richard catching
some nice Rainbow and Brown trout. The weather was good and fishing
was fair to great depending where we where fishing. Remember on a
dry fly take to just lift on the set. The lower picture is of a nice
double on dries.

The fishing at the lake for small smallmouth with the
fly rod was good The little orange eyed rascals just couldn't refuse the
carp candy fly pattern.

This island is near the Pine site marina. The lake
is dropping water level and the island is showing more everyday

Fishing on the San Juan River this week has been GREAT! The wading
in the Upper Flats and Cable hole WOW, and on the boats, there are places
that there are so many fish holding it looks like the old days. It
seems like some days are big fish, like last Saturday I watched some of
the clients I had guided the day before catch well over 6 rainbows around
20 to 23 inches in the upper flats. The Ju Ju Be fly has
bee most all you would need all day, but yesterday the fish were
really eating Scuds, but mostly the 15inchers were hungry.

Camped out at Navajo lake the week, we took the
grandkids and really didn't get too much time to fish but Peggy got this
Large mouth bass on a wooley bush critter. I have a guide trip on the
river tomorrow and I'll report back some trout pictures.

This was on the lake Thursday the 6th, the day after we
got a lot of rain and the ants fell . We elected to fish
the "ant fall" on the lake rather than on the river. We went up with
a co-worker of Peggy's, John. The reaction was great....... he knew I fished the lake
with flies but some how he got the idea we fished for trout.
you should have seen the look on his face when he found out he was about
to fish for Carp......on purpose! The Curse first
cast.......fish on, and then it was an hour before he caught a count able
fish ( 3 inches doesn't count). Anyway here is John with his first
Carp caught on purpose with a Ant pattern and a 5 weight.
